Born in the early 1970s in the Bordeaux region, Aymeric Giraudel displayed a clear talent and interest in the arts from a very early age. At the precocious age of 12, he designed a complete costume collection presented in a spectacular fashion show.
He quickly became an accomplished designer of costumes and stage setttings, as well as art direction. He was only 15 when he completed his first short film and developed a life-long interest in photography. The following year, on moving to Paris, he begins to work at the “Alcazar de Paris” as a costume designer and Frederic Castet’s ateliers. There, he collaborated on several theatrical productions, meeting important directors and producers, such as Pierre Notte.
Not well adjusted to Parisian life and missing the green countryside, he leaves the capital and heads back to Bordeaux. First, continuing to work on various artistic projects as a costume designer, he later participates as a choreographer and dancer - disciplines which have always coexisted with his design career.
As a freelance artist, he then entered the highly technical field of graphic design which complements, and leads to, his current activity of photography.
His first photography project, Vision-R, was presented in Paris in May 2006 during a period when he split his residence between London and Bordeaux. The following year he began work on “The Prophecy”: a very large photographic composition with an ensemble of 32 models.
Seven months later, in January 2008, “The Prophecy” is finally launched on the internet in partnership with the blog “Beautifulmag.” For the occasion, he produced a video (with approximately 400,000 views in 10 months). The composition is available for free in a 5 x 3 ft. printable version. The project is a clear success with a dozen international publishings and interest from hundreds of websites.
Mr. Giraudel continues to pursue his art as a graphic designer as well as developing various photography and video projects.
